Welcome
St Clare's Primary School Thomastown West
It is a privilege to welcome you to St Clare’s.
St Clare’s Catholic School Thomastown prides itself on providing a rich and comprehensive curriculum, complemented by a wide range of activities and programs to enrich learning.
When your child is enrolled at St Clare’s, the whole family becomes part of our community. We work in partnership with our families in making sure that each child is known both academically and socially. Each child is different and each child learns in different ways. We provide a wide variety of opportunities for each child to thrive. Through regular contact and communication, we strive to keep parents and carers informed of their child’s learning and their next step in development.
We are a welcoming learning community with many faiths and cultures present in our school. We teach and celebrate from a Catholic perspective, but also engage in dialogue to learn about each other.
My focus as the Principal of St Clare’s is always around the children. Every decision I make is made by asking the question “how will this improve outcomes for the students at St Clare’s?” My door is always open for the children and families of St Clare’s.
Daniel Barr
Principal
St Clare’s Catholic Primary School is a school which operates with the consent of the Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne and is operated and governed by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS).
MACS governs and operates Catholic schools in the Archdiocese to continue the mission of Catholic education to proclaim the Good News and equip our young people with the knowledge, skills, and hope to live meaningful lives and enrich the world around them.
Because the good work of educating the young is a co-responsible task led by every member of the Catholic school community, School Advisory Councils have been established to provide a crucial point of connection between the wider school community and school leaders. This governance model was designed to ease the administrative burden on our schools and parishes, allow parish priests to focus on the mission of education in the parish, enable greater collaboration between schools and ensure greater consistency in school policies and procedures.
More information about MACS is available at www.macs.vic.edu.au.
